Welcome to Trinity Theological College

Since the birth of the Uniting Church in Australia (UCA), Trinity Theological College has provided relevant high quality theological education to UCA candidates for ministry in Queensland, Australia. Increasingly, the college has broadened its focus by offering educational services within reach of everyone in the community. As a result, study at Trinity Theological College now occurs in a rich ecumenical and multicultural environment.

Trinity Theological College is administered from the heritage listed "Raymont Lodge" shown above, with lecture rooms located in the adjacent air conditioned building.

Uniting Theology and Church

A monthly essay of theological reflection hosted by Trinity Theological College

Each month an essay of up to 4000 words on a topic of theological significance will be published. These essays will be written by faculty, UCA ministers and other invited authors. The essays will straddle the academic and ecclesial communities, and their purpose will be to inform, encourage and provoke.

Following the decision of the Brisbane College of Theology to cease operations at the end of 2009 the Uniting Church in Australia (Queensland Synod), on behalf of Trinity Theological College, entered into an Affiliation Agreement with the Australian Catholic University on 25 February 2009. This agreement will effectively begin at the commencement of 2010 and will see ministry candidates of the Uniting Church undertaking the academic elements of their program through ACU while continuing their broader ministry formation through Trinity.

As part of the Agreement faculty of Trinity, both full-time and associate, will be recognised as affiliate members of the ACU School of Theology with the Faculty of Theology and Philosophy and will teach in the academic program of the university. As part of this Agreement ACU have also agreed to include in their programs particular units required by the UCA candidate formation program. Faculty will also, where appropriate, participate in the research program of the university, including the supervision of HRD and Honours students, and in its professional development program.
