Introduction to Christian Leadership

Introduction to Christian Leadership Article

This unit of study is designed to assist in the formation of effective Christian leaders.  Everyone is talking about leadership these days. A lot of this talk involves some strongly Christian language, e.g. servant leadership and leadership in love or with compassion and the like. But is this all that Christian leadership involves? Why should Christian leadership be any different from secular leadership? Would Old Testament leaders have anything to say on the topic of Christian leadership? Name some key Christian leaders of the last century. Are the leaders with the most followers the best leaders? How might Jesus have rated on Facebook likes and unlikes? On Twitter follower ratings?

Participants in this course will be asked to think deeply and ask hard questions about what it means to lead and to be Christian in leadership. There will be time for written reflection and wide reading, as well as some biblical studies.
