Frequently Asked Questions

Undergraduate courses are for students who haven’t completed a degree before. Postgraduate courses are for students who have completed a Higher Education degree.
Ministry diplomas or degrees have a certain number of practical units, while theology diplomas or degrees have more biblical and theology units. Most of the first year units will be the same in both degrees.
This answer to this depends on who you are! We are here to help you in working out what suits you best and will enable you to reach your goals. We can discuss this with you in person. Some helpful questions for you to think about when deciding which course to enrol in are:
  1. What are you hoping to do once you finish your study? 
  2. What level of education have you achieved?  
  3. How many years do you want to study for?

If you are studying three or four units per semester, you are considered a full-time student and are eligible for discounted transport fees and possibly Austudy. However, if you want to finish your course in the shortest amount of time you will need to study four units per semester/eight units per year. Part-time student load is one to two units per semester.
Trinity College Queensland offers night classes as well as intensives throughout the year. A lot of our course’s units (non-electives) are night classes.
An auditing student has access to all the material for the unit, sits in all the classes but does not do any of the assessments. Auditing units does not count towards an accredited degree or diploma and you cannot use FEE-HELP to pay for it.
Yes. However, because it isn’t assigned to a particular course FEE-HELP would not be available for this mode of study. Therefore, you would need to pay upfront for the unit. You can study as many stand-alone units as you wish. All stand-alone units can be put towards a degree at a later stage.
No. All prospective students are interviewed and you may be required to show a sample of your work to assess your ability.
If you have previously completed units within the last 10 years with an accredited higher education provider it may be possible to arrange credit for those units. Up to one third of your course may be cross-credited. Please make sure you talk to our Registrar and have your transcript available to see if you are eligible.
Trinity College Queensland is accredited through the Australian University of Theology (AUT). Trinity is one of 18 colleges under the AUT umbrella in Australia. Through the AUT, Trinity students are offered a large range of courses and units of study, as well as giving localised service provision from the college to our students.
Our college semesters currently start in February and July each year, but we also have intensives throughout the year that you may be eligible to enrol in. To talk about your options and set up a time for an interview, email registrar@trinity.qld.edu.au

FEE-HELP is available for eligible Australian citizens studying either part-time or full-time. To find out if you are eligible, please visit the Australian Government FEE-HELP website .

Full-time students may also be eligible for student payments such as Youth Allowance, Austudy, ABSTUDY, Student Start-up Loan and/or the Relocation Scholarship.

Trinity College Queensland is located close to the Brisbane CBD in Auchenflower and a short 6-minute walk from public transport (train, bus, and ferry). We offer free on-site parking as well as street parking.

With COVID–19 we have been live streaming all units as well as having face to face on campus lectures. In 2021, we will be starting a hybrid mode of blended study that will present opportunities for regional students to study at Trinity College Queensland.
Trinity theological library subscribes to several online resources including eBooks and Journals. The physical library catalogue has more than 30,000 resources that can be mailed or couriered to you for a small fee. Trinity’s library catalogue is online so you can search or browse titles from the comfort of your own home.
