50 Years of the Uniting Church in Queensland

24 July 2027 | 9am-4pm | Trinity College Queensland

In 2027, we celebrate 50 years of the Uniting Church in Queensland—50 years of faith, ministry, community, change and countless stories.

Join us at Trinity College Queensland for a special History Symposium exploring the story of the Uniting Church in Queensland and the people and communities who have shaped its journey.

Following the conversations and stories shared at our 2026 History Symposium, this year’s event will continue to bring together students, ministers, lay people, scholars, historians and members of the wider Church community to explore our shared history.

A story worth remembering

Church history is more than dates, names and significant events. It is also found in the stories of ordinary people, local congregations and communities who have lived out their faith across generations.

Throughout the day, we will hear from speakers and contributors exploring different aspects of the Uniting Church’s story, while reflecting on the traditions and communities that came before it.

There will also be opportunities to encounter history through archival material, photographs, documents, artefacts and displays, bringing the stories of Queensland’s churches to life.

Whether you’ve been part of the Uniting Church for decades, are just beginning to discover its history, or simply want to learn more, we invite you to come along.

Come and be part of the story

The symposium is open to students, ministers, lay people, scholars, historians and anyone interested in the history of the Uniting Church in Queensland.

Come to learn. Come to remember. Come to ask questions. Come to share your own stories.

Most importantly, come and celebrate the people and communities who have been part of the Uniting Church’s story over the past 50 years—and consider where that story might lead next.

Registration: $30 per person, including lunch.
