- Demonstrate basic skill in the practice of word-based ministry
- Present organised evidence-based perspectives on word-based ministry
Be in a position to
- Examine perspectives and skills from ‘Engaging in Word-based Ministries’ to contemporary Christian life and ministry contexts
Content
Section A: Foundations
- Defining Word-based ministry: its bases, goals and varieties
- Principles of teaching and learning
- Principles and responsibilities of child protection
Section B: Applications
- Understand important issues related to, and principles for designing teaching input for at least three of the following:
- Children’s Ministry
- Youth Ministry
- Bible Study Groups
- One-to-one Bible Reading
- Leading Church Services
- Ministry in School Settings
- Other word-based ministries as approved by the moderator
- Principles for designing an annual teaching programme
