Emma Nicholls
Chaplain

I have the privilege of being in the unique position of Student Chaplain—because I get to be both a student at Trinity, and chaplain to students. I hope to support the growing life and culture of this college and walk beside students as they take on the transformative experience of theological study.
Before I began a Masters of Divinity last year, I taught high school in country and metropolitan areas in Queensland, taking some time out to work in the business side of international education. Before that I lived in Japan teaching English in an industrial city called Hamamatsu—famous for eel farming and the manufacture of musical instruments! In my down time I enjoy quality hangouts with friends and family, maybe watching a movie, going for a bike ride or playing a board game.
Through all of these wonderful experiences, as well as in the challenges of life, I’ve come to know a wide variety of different people. Now as a candidate for Minister of the Word, my deep sense of call is to create space for all people to explore what it means to have faith in today’s world. As I continue on this adventure, I’m growing in love and wonder of God’s character and his Word, and I’m so glad to be a part of this Trinity College Queensland community who are on the same journey.
