Faith and the Arts Competition 2025

Is creative expression informed by the Spirit? Is there a relationship between how human creativity works and the Creator God?

Four inspiring and well-known artists will discuss integrating these two aspects of their lives when they appear as part of Trinity College’s Faith and the Arts program, which launches next month.

Unit coordinator Dr Scott Downman said God created humans with a capacity to be imaginative and inventive and the arts provides an outlet for creative expressions of faith.

“This unit explores how faith and spirituality go far beyond statements of belief,” Dr Downman said.

Trinity College Queensland is offering four Friday night “performances”, one per month from July to October. Guests are jazz musician Chris Poulsen and friends, visual artist Lyn Diefenbach, celebrated young adult author Claire Zorn, and our very own award-winning documentary maker Scott Downman.

Faith and the Arts at Trinity College Queensland celebrates the beautiful intersection of creativity and faith.

We’re inviting you to get inspired and create a piece of art, music, short film, or literature that expresses your faith — or explores how faith and creativity intertwine.
