The Uniting Church in Australia was inaugurated in 1977 with the intent of being a missional movement rather than (yet) another denomination in the ecclesial landscape of Australia. It was, and continues to be, a bold and relevant vision for the people of God in this nation. In keeping with this vision, Trinity is proud to announce a new postgraduate course of study that embraces this missional heritage of the Uniting Church: the Master of Missional Leadership (MML).

The purpose of the MML is to form and equip leaders to serve God’s mission in ways that grow and transition the church into a missional movement in the 21st century. Therefore, participants in this course will not only improve their understanding of how the church participates in the mission of God through innovation; they will have plenty of opportunities to enhance their practical skills as well.

The MML will commence in Semester 2 of 2020 with “Missional Leadership in the 21st Century” being the first core unit on offer. This unit alone will stimulate thinking on a broad range of topics, including:

  • Formation of missional leaders to reflect the character of God
  • Imagination and creativity in mission
  • Leading Organic systems
  • Church planting and apostolic movements (with case studies)

The MML is a 16-unit Masters degree comprising 4 core units, various electives and a Mission Project. Participants will be encouraged to undertake one unit per semester. Recognised Prior Learning is available for the course with up to 5 units credited for those who have a completed Bachelor of Theology and up to 3 units credited for those who have completed relevant postgraduate study, such as a Graduate Certificate in Ministry. This means that a total of half the course can potentially be accounted for through Recognised Prior Learning!

Your entire Master’s degree can be put on FEE-HELP, so that you won’t need to pay a cent upfront.

There are two discount options:

15% off each unit if you’re employed by a church or missional context (of any denomination). Applicants should contact the Manager of Student Services to access this discount.

OR

Discount of 25% off each unit per person if you enrol with a group of 5 or more students from one employer e.g. Scripture Union, UnitingCare, Wesley Mission, Uniting Church in Australia (UCA) school teachers, or a shared Presbytery. Applicants should contact the Manager of Student Services to access this discount.

Enrolments are now open for the commencement of the MML in Semester 2. For more information about this course please contact:
